Calcium ammonium nitrate is a nitrogen
fertiliser made by melting ammonium nitrate with a certain proportion of
limestone and dolomite powder. The composition is NH4NO3
and CaCO3, MgCO3 mixture. Calcium ammonium nitrate
contains 21% to 26% nitrogen (N), grey or light yellow particles or powder, the
aqueous solution is weakly alkaline.

Calcium nitrate granular is a kind of
compound fertiliser, it is white round granule, very soluble in water, with
strong hygroscopicity, agglomeration and flammability and explosiveness, it is
a new kind of high efficient compound fertiliser containing nitrogen and
quick-acting calcium, its fertiliser effect is fast, it has the characteristics
of fast nitrogen replenishment, which has increased the calcium, and the
nutrients are more comprehensive than ammonium nitrate, and the plants can
absorb directly.
This
product is a neutral fertiliser, with a small degree of physiological acidity,
and has an ameliorating effect on the acidic soil.
The acidity and alkalinity are small after
applying into the soil, which will not cause soil sloughing and can make the
soil become loose. At the same time, it can reduce the concentration of active
aluminium, reduce the fixation of active phosphorus, and provide water-soluble
calcium, which can improve the resistance of plants to diseases. It can
encourage the activity of beneficial microorganisms in the soil.
When planting cash crops, flowers, fruits,
vegetables and other crops, the fertilizer can prolong the flowering period,
promote the normal growth of roots, stems and leaves, ensure the bright colour
of fruits and increase the hardness of fruits.
Calcium
ammonium nitrate contains a large amount of calcium carbonate, which has good
effect on acidic soil.
When applied in paddy fields, its
fertilising effect is slightly lower than that of ammonium sulphate with the
same amount of nitrogen, while when applied in drylands, its fertilising effect
is similar to that of ammonium sulphate. The cost of nitrogen in calcium
ammonium nitrate is higher than that in ordinary ammonium nitrate. Calcium
ammonium nitrate is a physiologically neutral fertiliser as a low-concentration
fertiliser, and long-term application plays a good role in soil properties.
Nitrogen in calcium ammonium nitrate
granules can be released more quickly, whereas lime dissolves slowly. Field
trials on acidic soils have shown that calcium ammonium nitrate is
agronomically effective and increases the overall level of yield.
